Compact, lush bushes of this variety are completely covered with dark pink flowers.
It is valued for its abundant and long flowering throughout the summer until the onset of night frosts.
A wonderful flowerbed crop, used to decorate various flower beds, balconies, flowerpots, and create borders.
A perennial, grown as an annual in a moderate climate. The height of the plant is 10-20 cm.
Lobelia is good in flowerpots, balcony boxes and hanging baskets, it is planted in the garden on retaining walls and in borders as a ground cover plant. For greater tillering, the plants are pinched.
Growing conditions.
Sowing for seedlings is superficial, under glass. Germination in the light. At a temperature of +18 °C, shoots appear in 7-14 days.
The culture is heat- and light-loving. Planting in open ground in small groups, when the threat of frost has passed.
Place in sunny places with well-drained, moderately fertile soil. In dry weather, regular watering is necessary.
The seeds are very small, up to 30,000 seeds in 1 g.
Small lobelia seeds are mixed with dry sand in a ratio of 1:50 for uniformity and are not covered.
Sowing: for seedlings in March-April. After the appearance of the first two true leaves, the seedlings are pricked out. It is better to prick out in small groups of several seedlings. Plant in open ground in May-June, when the threat of frost has passed. The distance between plants is 10-15 cm. Any moist garden soil rich in humus, sunny or semi-shaded location is suitable.
Care: for abundant and long flowering, periodic fertilizing and good watering in dry weather are necessary. For top dressing, use complex mineral fertilizer. In August, the plants need to be cut low, fed, loosened and watered, then the second flowering will occur, which will last until frost.
